Paula Geerligs is an American Cheese Society Certified Cheese Professional®, but her specialty foods industry journey first began with tea. While the ritual of tea has long been a part of Paula’s life, her relationship with Camellia sinensis was strengthened when she worked under a Master Herbalist. Tea became the gateway plant that ignited an ever-growing interest in botanicals. Paula immersed herself in the study of tea, horticulture, and herbalism and then became manager of a Southern California retail shop selling hundreds of teas, spices, and herbs. Paula is experienced in creating unique small-batch tea blends for a variety of clients including other businesses. She has also organized tea events such as tastings, pairings, and workshops. She currently resides and works in Long Beach, CA where she continues to share her passion for tea.
