Sharyn In The USA

This October’s Midwest Tea Festival offers a rare opportunity to meet and study with Internationally Respected Educator, Sharyn Johnston. Even though she has presented her professional Blending Classes and Korean Tea Tasting programs for trade shows, these classes have been designed for a much broader audience of tea lovers.

She tells us that similar programs presented around the world draw hobbyists who just want to know more about tea to entrepreneurs who want to start a new business to “old” pros who want to update and expand their knowledge and professionalism.

Her travels as a teacher, judge, sommelier and business consultant have taken her to more than a dozen countries. She travels with a collection of rare tea and a rare reputation as one of the most hardworking tea professionals in the Specialty Tea Industry.

She shares part of her journey to tea in this short YouTube interview:

*Sharyn will also offer her award-winning Australian Tea Masters teas and products in the festival marketplace. She and her team will be in the booth to meet everyone attending the Midwest Tea Fest.

Supporting The Farmers

One of her greatest goals personally and for Australian Tea Masters is to support tea farmers around the world. In addition buying directly from small farmers and promoting them in her training programs and distributing them wholesale, she spends time on farms around the world. An example of how her integrated approach works to benefit farmers directly is the story of Korean Breakfast Blend.

Consulting directly with the Boesong Tea Farmers, she helped create a blend that included handcrafted black teas from all their farms. The Korean Breakfast Blend is a rare combination of almost a dozen black teas from a single region of South Korea on the eastern coast of the country. It became a product that turned a spotlight on the artisan tea growers of this region.

It’s programs like this that demonstrate the hard work she has done and continues to do to promote Specialty Tea around the world with meaningful and substantive education.
