Sacramento is excited to be hosting its own tea festival in 2020! Sac Tea Fest will take place on June 27, 2020 at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center (6151 H St., Sacramento, CA 95819). This will be the first tea festival in the San Joaquin Valley and it promises to ’bring the world of tea to Sacramento’.
The venue has a nice large auditorium for vendors to sell and sample, separate classrooms for guest speakers and presentations, and ample parking. In addition, there is a large grassy area where there will be artisans, more vendors, yoga, and/or a quiet place to enjoy tea.
Scheduled talks on Taiwanese oolong, Darjeeling, Puer, Guayusa, and Tea 101 are planned (with more in the works). A health and wellness room will show how tea is beneficial for us all. And a fun and whimsical children’s tea party is planned.
The festival organizers Renee Planje of TeaXotics in El Dorado Hills, Nami Thompson of Tea Cozy in Sacramento, and Babette Donaldson of International Tea Sippers Society are looking forward to sharing their passion for tea with the greater Sacramento area. The diversity of tea cultures will offer something for everyone: Young and old.
Proceeds from the tea party will benefit Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. Proceeds from the Sac Tea Fest will be shared with Shriner’s and The Sacramento Childhood Language Center. Sac Tea Fest is honored and happy to be able to support both of these fine organizations.
