Green tea is loaded with antioxidants. Antioxidants are something we all can benefit from getting more of to fight off free radicals. Antioxidants can help with overall health and also skin health. Try incorporating green tea into your skincare routine to help boost and maintain skin health.

  1. Green tea cleanser:

Add a pinch of green tea powder to your cleanser and mix well. Cleanse face as usual.

2. Green tea face mask:

Add ½ tsp to your favorite mask and mix well. Use as directed according to the instructions for the mask you’ve chosen. For a simple soothing all-natural mask: mix together  ½ tsp of green tea powder with 1 tbsp of honey or plain yogurt. Spread on face and leave on for 5-10 minutes and rinse with warm water.

3. Green tea and rosewater facial spray:

Brew some green tea and let the tea cool down to room temperature. Once the tea has cooled down, mix equal parts green tea and rose water. Pour into spray bottle and store in the refrigerator for a refreshing facial spray on a hot day.

4. Green tea facial steam:

Combine green tea leaves with your favorite botanicals such as rose petals (for dry skin) or eucalyptus (for oily skin). You can also add 1-2 drops of your favorite essential oil for additional benefits and aromatherapy. Add ¼ cup of facial steam mix into a glass bowl and pour boiling water into the bowl. Let steep for 2-3 minutes covered with towel or lid. Let your face hover over the bowl without touching the hot water. Place towel over your head and the bowl so steam will not escape. Steam for 10 minutes and finish with a cool rinse to close pores.

5. Green tea facial rinse:

For an extra boost of green tea, try splashing your face with warm or chilled green tea after cleansing.

The absolute best way to use green tea in skin care is simply to…drink it. Drinking green tea will help your body absorb the antioxidants and also increase your water intake. Drinking a generous amount of water can do great things for your skin, especially during the hot summer months.
