christmas candlesI know how challenging the holiday season can be. For some, having families all together is a blessing. For others, it’s a stressful time to get through. Most people are heard to complain about too much shopping pressure, too much money being spent, too much drinking and just not enough precious time.

Remember, us tea lovers have a very simple fix for this whirl of activities and emotions. Take 15 minutes, (30 would be better) and don’t tell me you can’t spare 15 minutes, because everyone can! Make your absolute favorite cup/pot of tea and sit by a window and look out onto the world in front of you (if you have a nature view, now we’re really talking!). Before each sip of tea, take a very deep breath through you nose, all the way down to your diaphragm and hold it for a few seconds. Release it through your mouth. Now smile for as long as your mouth will comfortably tolerate and repeat. If you’ve got a longer period of time for this ritual, you might add a fragrant candle and some lovely relaxing music. You might even put yourself in a hot tub. Many of you may be aware of the phrase “Relax and body and the mind will follow.”

We can always carve out a small piece for relaxation and for me, tea is always part of that vision.  Wishing you a healthy and joyous Holiday Season.
