It’s time for another tea-themed party – Christmas style! Christmas time is my favorite time of the year, as I’m sure it is for a lot of people, and one thing I always think about when this time of year comes around is – you guessed it – tea! There is something special about receiving tea, giving tea, sipping tea, and brewing tea all in the name of Christmas, specially when you have your favorite loved ones around!
Imagine this – a Christmas tea party, including a festively decorated home, Christmas tea, teapots, plates, holiday treats, and family and friends around a cozy fire. Doesn’t that sound like the perfect holiday? My sister and her husband are visiting from California and I have taken it upon myself to plan this tea party. It is especially easy to do because my father is a chef who makes the most amazing treats to accompany the type of tea I am serving.
My favorite kind of tea this time of year is Chai. Chai has a unique blend of spices that simply remind me of Christmas. Although I drink Chai year round, I find a special place for it on Christmas Day. While others are drinking hot cocoa and coffee, you will find me sipping a fancy brew of Chai, complete with almond milk and stevia.
I will be serving a basic Chai tea and a special tea I bought from Teavana called Tulsi Dosha Chai Rooibos Tea. The tea includes Tulsi, which is a sacred herb in India, red rooibos, cinnamon sticks, Madagascar vanilla, roasted coconut, cardamom, ginger, whole cloves, and rose blossoms. It is the perfect blend that will definitely get you in the holiday spirit. It looks beautiful while it’s brewing and simply evokes Christmas.
I recommend picking up some of this tea at your local Teavana or on their online store and serving it at any of your Christmas festivities. It will definitely boost your holiday spirits. Maybe you’ll even be inspired to throw a Christmas-themed tea party!
