I just got a call from my mother who at 88 continues to read the New York Times faithfully every Sunday. She was very excited to tell me that the Carlyle Hotel, in Manhattan, was offering a Madeline Tea event every Saturday and Sunday for the 12 and younger set. At a price of $40.00, this is sure to be some fancy tea party.

I must say I’m quite pleased to hear this. Although this isn’t exactly my idea of the type of tea party I’d like to host, it opens the door to the idea that kids can drink tea and that it’s actually something quite exciting and fun. Bravo, Carlyle! I hope this event will encourage others to introduce kids to the wonders of tea.

They have another tea event for kids at the end of October, MADELINE’S GOOBILY GOBBALLY HALLOWEEN TEA. I’m lovin it!
