Science Daily reported a preliminary study suggesting that the normal dietary intake of green tea may protect against inflammatory responses of the bladder. Scientists from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine presenting at the annual meeting of the American Urological Association stated that their research could lead to remedies for millions of Americans suffering from a variety of bladder disorders. As always, more research needs to be conducted in this area and preferably on human subjects.

This research further adds to the growing evidence of green teas’ powerful anti-inflammatory properties in general. This becomes more significant as I continue to cull from the research in many different fields of medicine, the growing awareness that chronic inflammation in our bodies may be the trigger for some of our most common and leading causes of death and chronic illness.
