The Specialty Tea Institute (STI) seminars offer one of the easiest and fastest ways to bring yourself up to speed with other tea professionals and high amateur tea officianados. You’ll get up-to-date, validated information on tea production (growth and manufacturing), tea types, styles, selection, tasting and more. Plus, you’ll come away with an official certification certificate. This is an amazing shortcut to a wealth of tea knowledge that previously took decades to acquire.

STI is a division of the Tea Association of the USA and is the only certifying agency sanctioned by that well respected group. Teachers, drawn from the highest ranks of STI, are committed to sharing their vast tea knowledge. I was lucky enough to chair the committee organizing these seminars for 24 exciting months. Presently, Donna Fellman does an admirable job of chairing this committee; she is expanding the venues as rapidly as is possible.

If you’re feeling a little shaky about your tea knowledge, are interested in career opportunities within the industry or are simply excited about becoming a tea expert, I highly recommend this seminar series.
The next seminars are scheduled as follows:

  • May 2007: Long Beach, CA
  • June 2007: Atlanta, GA
  • July 2007: New York City
