Here we go: The T Ching community blog. Our agenda is simple. Get people to drink more tea. Why you ask? Tea is the healthiest beverage on the planet. America is one of the ONLY countries in the world that doesn’t drink tea consistently as a regular part of their diet. Aside from water, tea is the most widely consumed beverage around the world. Tea is proving itself to be loaded with powerful antioxidants, even richer in some important polyphenols than fruits and vegetables. What finally struck a cord in me was when I read a passage by Dr. John Weisburger. Consider this; John Weisburger M.D., Ph.D. is a man who has been studying the health benefits of tea for many years, starting back when he was a researcher at the National Institutes of Health. That led him to continue his research at the National Cancer Institute. His conclusions: “Tea is beating all scientific expectations as the most potent beverage ever. The many ways that tea can promote health are truly astonishingâ€. When was the last time you heard a scientist use words like “astonishingâ€? Dr. Weisburger will be a guest contributor on this blog so we’ll all have an opportunity to hear more about his experience with tea. You’ll learn that tea is a wonderful prophylactic health beverage. By making a commitment to drink 4-8 cups a day, you will be taking serious steps toward preventing illness. For those who are battling various illnesses, tea is a must. Research is showing that tea can be part of ones armamentarium to help bring the body back to health.
There is another side to tea. The “Tea Life†is a lifestyle. It encourages us toward balance. On one side, we can undersand the ancient monks who experienced a meditative calm. On another, it enables us to sharpen our mental focus and energizes us. How does that happen? That’s exactly what we’re all about. The name T Ching was chosen for two reasons. One is representative of its connection to the I Ching, the book of change and harmony. The other is about teaching. We are committed to teach this community about everything TEA. This is your community. If you want some information about anything tea related, we’ll get it for you. If there’s news in the tea world, you’ll find it here. Consider us the CNN of tea. We are the TCC (T Ching Community). We will be the tea trend setters and the tea leaders.

Tea is so rich and complex in character that it can provide even the most experienced and knowledgeable of experts with ongoing opportunities to learn. That’s what makes it so wonderful. Each time we sit down to enjoy a cup of tea (even an old favorite) it can teach us something new about itself or about ourselves.
